In my installation "Two Donkeys and Rope" I used the trunk of a tree scarred through all its length by worm gnawing. By covering the trunk's surface with silicon I created a two-dimension image that resembled scarred human skin. From a round hole in the ceiling a rope emerged down to the floor and over it I grew sugar crystals.
The proportions of the crystal-covered rope to those of the scarred human skin depicted the core of the tree, while its presence on the mystic and symbolic dimensions referred to ceremonies of skin scarification.
